TEMSCO Helicopters begins fleet upgrade program with the purchase of an AS350 B3 at Heli-Expo

From the Eurocopter booth at Heli-Expo, American Eurocopter announced that TEMSCO Helicopters has signed for an AS350 B3 helicopter as it begins a fleet upgrade program. TEMSCO's fleet includes 56 helicopters and 39 of those are Eurocopter aircraft.

NTSB Publishes New Accident, Incident Reporting Rules

Five Reportable Incidents Added To Notification Requirements
The NTSB is amending its regulations concerning notification and reporting requirements regarding aircraft accidents or incidents. In particular, the NTSB is adding regulations to require operators to report certain incidents to the NTSB. The NTSB is also amending existing regulations to provide clarity and ensure that the appropriate means for notifying the NTSB of a reportable incident is listed correctly in the regulation.

NTSB Recommends Several Revisions On Bird Strike, Operations Regs

The NTSB Tuesday issued a list of recommendations for changes in FAR's that it says will enhance bird strike prevention, and beef up safety for charter operators.For preventing and reporting bird strikes, NTSB said that the FAA should revise the bird-strike certification requirements for 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 25 airplanes so that protection from in-flight impact with birds is consistent across all airframe structures. Consider the most current military and civilian bird-strike database information and trends in bird populations in drafting this revision.
